Carrera Marble

Carrera marble is one of the most sought after luxury building materials in the world. Quarried in the Tuscany region in Italy, its lovely white or blue-gray color is highly coveted in part because of its clean aesthetic. Exquisite homes have Carrera marble features such as fireplaces, counter tops or tiles. In fact, many Beverly Hills estates offer these exclusive and superb details.

Discriminating home owners who love Carrera marble are the latest link in a long chain of people who demand top-notch materials. Used since Ancient Roman times, Carerra marble was used in the Parthenon. During the Renaissance, it was used in sculpture, perhaps most significantly in Michelangelo’s David. Carrera is found in fine architecture outside of Italy as well, including London’s Marble Arch and the campus of Harvard Business Schools. Of course, it has found its way in to some of the most exclusive Beverly Hills properties, including this Beverly Hills hacienda located at 512 N. Walden Drive.
